THE PROBLEM
After speaking with a multitude of P. Terry’s customers, they all shared the same issue, long wait times. Lines to order are either down the street or out the door. This issue is especially frustrating for our many returning regulars who know exactly what they want.
THE SOLUTION
Our goal is to enhance the experience of every P. Terry’s customer, first timers and regulars. We plan to do this by creating a kiosk ordering system with features that cater to both.
Patrons were asked if they’ve left our drive-thru line due to long lines.
Research shows that too many P. Terry’s patrons are leaving the drive-thru due to long wait times, resulting in lost sales. A kiosk system would ease this pressure by offering a faster in-store ordering option, helping reduce lines, improve efficiency, and keep more customers from walking away.
Patrons were asked what the most frustrating aspects of fast food is.
Patrons at P. Terry’s have reported issues with hearing at the drive-thru, long wait times, and frequent order mistakes, all of which hurt the customer experience. A kiosk system can solve these problems by providing a clear, visual interface for ordering, reducing miscommunication, speeding up service, and improving order accuracy.

Quicker order processing: with an easy to use kiosk, ordering becomes faster and shortens drive-thru and dine in lines.
Personalized experience: through the use of AI, patrons can sign into their account, where it will remember their usual burger preferences and how they customize it. The system will still give them the flexibility to make changes. It will also suggest new menu items based on their past choices and even recommend what might sound good depending on the time of day, for example, a yummy chocolate milkshake on a sunny day.
